Microsoft Project Fundamentals
This course covers all the fundamental skills required to create and print project plans and assign resources to tasks.

Closed company course: £1,000 per course - maximum 10 people
Those who need to plan, design, create and manage project plans using Microsoft Project.
On completion of the course, you will be able to create new project plans and modify existing plans including entering task and resource details and using dependency links to produce logical schedules. You will also be able to maintain plans by entering progress information and prepare plans for printing.

Getting Started with Project:
- Navigating the project interface
- Opening and navigating project files
- Working with views and tables
- Changing system options
Starting a New Project:
- Setting project base information
- Modifying the base calendar
- Outlining the plan
- Manual vs automatic scheduling
- Inserting, editing, deleting, moving and copying tasks
- Inserting summary and sub-tasks
- Creating and displaying task notes
Defining a Project Schedule:
- Entering task duration and elapsed time
- Creating milestone tasks
- Dealing with scheduling issues
- Creating and modifying dependency links
- Creating a ‘lag’ between tasks
- What is a critical path and a critical task?
- Viewing slack time/float
Simple Resource Scheduling:
- Using the resource sheet
- Entering and editing resource details
- Resource availability and holidays
- Basic resource assignments
- Using resource views to resolve conflicts
Completing Tasks:
- Marking tasks as % complete
- Viewing task progress
Printing Project Plans:
- Previewing and printing projects
- Controlling page setup
This course can be delivered remotely or in a classroom environment, to suit your requirements.
Attendees should have a working knowledge of one other Microsoft application. A general understanding of the principles of project management is desirable although not essential.
Attendees must have the following equipment to attend this training remotely:
- PC or laptop with a microphone and speakers (webcam is preferred but not essential)
- Access to the internet and web browser application (e.g. Google Chrome)
- Microsoft Excel installed on the PC or laptop
- An email account for file sharing
- A second screen is ideal but not essential
