Suitable for

Those who have little or no experience of Microsoft PowerPoint who need to be able to create, edit, format and run professional presentations.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, you will be able to produce presentations using a variety of predefined templates which include text, bulleted lists, images and charts. You will also be able to run a slide show with transition effects.

  • Navigating the Microsoft PowerPoint interface
  • Ribbon commands, dialogue boxes and task panes
  • Opening, saving and closing presentations
  • Creating presentations using templates

Creating, Editing and Navigating:

  • Selecting, moving and resizing objects
  • Rotating and deleting objects
  • Creating and inserting new slides
  • Changing slide layouts

Working with Text:

  • Working with text boxes

Formatting and Proofing Tools:

Course requirements

This course can be delivered remotely or in a classroom environment, to suit your requirements.

Attendees must be proficient with a mouse and keyboard and be able to confidently work within a Windows environment - minimise, maximise, open and close. 

Attendees must have the following equipment to attend this training remotely:

  • PC or laptop with a microphone and speakers (webcam is preferred but not essential)
  • Access to the internet and web browser application (e.g. Google Chrome)
  • Microsoft Excel installed on the PC or laptop
  • An email account for file sharing
  • A second screen is ideal but not essential
