Suitable for

This course is suitable for students aged 14 and over. It is ideal for anyone who would like to develop their understanding of equality and diversity.

Learning outcomes

Candidates will understand equality and diversity in society, in the community and in the workplace.

Course content

  • The meaning of the terms equality and diversity
  • The damaging effects of stereotyping and labelling
  • The extent of diversity that exists within the community
  • Understanding the benefits of promoting a culture of equality and diversity
  • How equality and diversity can be promoted and maintained by employees
  • Benefits of having a dynamic, diverse workforce

Course requirements

This course can be delivered remotely or in a classroom environment, depending on your requirements.

If learning remotely, candidates will require the following equipment for distance learning:

  • PC or laptop with a microphone and speakers (a webcam is preferred but not essential)
  • Access to the internet and web browser application (e.g. Google Chrome)
  • An email account for file sharing
