This qualification will provide students with a detailed understanding of behaviour that challenges children, including how such behaviour can be assessed and avoidance techniques that can help minimise the effects of this behaviour. You will look at how different coexisting conditions, such as a learning disability, a mental health condition, sensory issues and autism can impact behaviour that challenges and how to support those children who experience these complex behaviours.

This course is suitable for students aged 14 and over. It is ideal for anyone who currently works in, or would like to work in, the education and health and social care sectors.

Following this course, you will have an understanding of behaviour that can be seen as challenging, know how to support positive behaviour, be aware of the impact that effective communication can have and know how to support those who are involved in incidents of challenging behaviour.
