Fire Safety Principles (CPD certified)
This short, auto-marked programme will give students the knowledge needed to understand fire hazards and risks and how to effectively identify and control any hazards.

By the end of the course, students will understand fire hazards and risks, how to control fire risks, fire safety management and the role of a fire warden.

- Controlling fire risks:
- Identifying and controlling fire hazards at work
- What is meant by the term 'means of escape' in relation to fire hazards and the typical components of this
- The principles of extinguishing fires
- The use of portable firefighting equipment and fixed firefighting systems
- Fire safety management:
- The duties of employers and employees in relation to workplace fire safety
- How to undertake a simple fire safety inspection
- The stages of a fire risk assessment
- The role of the Fire Warden:
- Understanding of the role and function of the Fire Warden
- The contents of a fire safety briefing
