This apprenticeship is ideal for any organisation with a desire to improve its online presence, either by upskilling an existing employee, or recruiting fresh talent to earn and learn.

We have expanded our provision by introducing the Level 3 Digital Marketer Apprenticeship Standard to our training portfolio. Enrolment is open now, and the first cohort of students will begin studying soon, with the course typically being completed within 18 months.

The Digital Marketer role predominantly focuses on using online platforms, such as websites and social media, to design, build and implement campaigns to drive customer acquisition, engagement and retention. This apprenticeship is ideal for any organisation with a desire to improve its online presence, either by upskilling an existing employee, or recruiting fresh talent to earn and learn.

Steve Hepworth, Managing Director of ITS, said: “We are committed to developing our digital curriculum in response to demand from employers who are keen to introduce and nurture critical skills in the workforce and to address the digital skills gap. We continue to work hard to promote that agenda through apprenticeships and our other professional training courses.

“Now is the ideal time for employers to invest in an apprenticeship as they can take advantage of the Government funding incentive scheme which was introduced in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. This provides up to £2,000 towards apprenticeships, in addition to existing funding schemes*, but it does expire at the end of March.”

The Level 3 Digital Marketer Apprenticeship Standard covers the marketing theory needed to build competency within the role, such as basic marketing principles, applying the customer lifecycle model and relationship marketing. This understanding is developed alongside a core set of technical skills including coding, search marketing, search engine optimisation, e-mail marketing, web analytics and metrics, mobile apps and Pay-Per-Click. Apprentices will learn how these can work together whilst getting familiar with the major digital and social media platforms.

Just a few of the transferrable skills gained from this qualification include improved problem solving and communication skills, research techniques and knowledge of data analysis and security.

Successful apprentices achieve internationally recognised vendor or professional qualifications such as MTA HTML 5, CIM Level 4 Award in Digital Marketing, Dot Native or Google Squared. They are also eligible to apply for inclusion on the Register of IT Technicians, to join as Associate Members of BCS (The Chartered Institute for IT) and/or as Affiliate (Professional) Members of the CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing).

Independent Training Services Ltd./SmartStyle Training Ltd. (ITS) and Barnsley College are addressing the digital skills gap and digital poverty, by investing in their combined digital offer across all curriculum areas.
