New Digital Boost initiative is set to provide funded* IT skills training from April

These courses are ideal for you if you want to broaden your IT skills and pursue opportunities for career progression or employment through gaining the digital skills that employers need.

Barnsley Council has joined with local partners to get funding from the European Social Fund (ESF) to deliver training in digital skills to people who are employed in Barnsley. 

These courses are ideal for you if you want to broaden your IT skills and pursue opportunities for career progression or employment through gaining the digital skills that employers need.

The Digital Boost initiative will support those in vulnerable jobs such a zero hours contracts where employers sometimes don’t support workforce development. Flexible delivery will blend online study with classroom lessons to make the courses widely accessible.

Courses offered include the following:

  • Microsoft Office programmes (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Project, Access, SharePoint, and Visio).
  • European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
  • Adobe InDesign, Captivate, Illustrator and PhotoShop
  • Crystal Reports
  • Level 1, 2 and 3 qualifications:
    • Cyber Security
    • Social and Digital Marketing
    • Digital Skills for Employment
    • IT User Skills
  • Apprenticeships at Levels 2,3 and 4

Courses start in April but we are enrolling now.
