We are offering fully funded courses to students aged 18 and 19, who are preparing for employment in the care sector.

All of these courses are currently in high demand against the backdrop of a job market which is expected to become extremely competitive due to the economic pressures of the Coronavirus pandemic.

We are offering fully funded courses to students aged 18 and 19, who are preparing for employment in the care sector.

The government funding is part of a package of measures intended to boost skills and support the recovery of the UK labour market following the COVID-19 outbreak. The measures prioritise helping young people to access employment, an apprenticeship or other work-based training. This additional offer of one-year courses in high value subjects will support those who are at added risk of unemployment, by helping them to access training to boost their employability.

The courses on offer are:

  • Level 2 Certificate in Principals of Working with Individuals with Learning Difficulties.
  • Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities
  • Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care
  • Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care

Courses are delivered using a blended learning approach, with a mix of online distance learning and one-to-one support from tutors.

Steve Hepworth, Managing Director of Independent Training Services (ITS), said: “This is a one-off opportunity for students in this age group to access funded training of this kind. These courses are a welcome addition to the package of funded provision we are currently offering to students of all ages who are seeking employment in a very challenging socio-economic climate.

“We are supporting employers to access funding of up to £2,000 for taking on new apprenticeships, and our Sector Work Academy Programmes offer a competitive edge to job seekers in the form of valuable knowledge, skills, links to employers and employment.

“All of these courses are currently in high demand against the backdrop of a job market which is expected to become extremely competitive due to the economic pressures of the Coronavirus pandemic.”
