Security, Sector-based Work Academy Programme (SWAP) 

June attended ITS having recently left the care sector and wanting a change of career. June was initially very nervous and frustrated having struggled academically throughout her life due to a learning difficulty; however, June found the course really rewarding and quickly made some good friends, which helped ease some of her nerves and build her confidence.

The biggest challenge was sitting the Security qualifications exams at the end of the course but having a 'reader' and the opportunity to sit the exams on a one-to-one basis made this much more manageable.

Following the course June secured employment with G4S and now works as a Security officer in Barnsley Jobcentre. June absolutely loves her job, as no day is ever the same; she loves helping people and putting her customer service training to good use.

Being back at work has made a huge difference to June's life, not only does she not have the same money worries, but she has also managed to buy a car, which has made a huge difference professionally and personally.
