TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Understanding the Safe Handling of Medication in Health and Social Care
“I chose to study with ITS because I wanted to refresh my knowledge and gain UK qualifications that would help me return to a career in health and social care.
“I previously worked as a nurse in Sri Lanka, but after moving to the UK, I took a career break to care for my family. Studying with ITS gave me the opportunity to build on my previous experience and develop my understanding of health and social care practices in the UK. Distance learning also provided the flexibility I needed to study around my family commitments.
“I enjoyed learning new things and expanding my existing healthcare knowledge. The course helped me understand areas including the safe handling of medication, safeguarding, confidentiality, record-keeping and person-centred care.
“I really appreciated the support I received from my tutor. She was helpful, patient and understanding, particularly when I needed additional time because of my family commitments.
“My long-term goal is to return to healthcare and continue developing my career in the UK. I would like to combine my previous nursing experience with the knowledge and qualifications I have gained here. I am currently looking for opportunities where I can support people by providing safe, compassionate and person-centred care while continuing my professional development.
“I would definitely recommend ITS, particularly to anyone who needs to fit their studies around work or family life. The course materials were useful and the tutor support was excellent.
“My advice is to go for it. Do not be afraid to start learning again, even if you have had a long break from education. Plan your study time around your other responsibilities and ask your tutor for help whenever you need it. The support is there, and completing a course can really improve your knowledge, confidence and motivation to move forward in your career.”
