IT Solutions Technician Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship

The Level 3 IT Solutions Technician Advanced Apprenticeship will prepare you to develop, implement and maintain IT solutions that improve business efficiency. You will learn to identify root causes of technical issues, assess viable alternatives and consider system interdependencies. This apprenticeship will equip you with the skills to work with software, hardware, or both, ensuring solutions align with existing infrastructure while addressing business challenges effectively.

Course Content

  • Works at any stage of the software solution lifecycle.

  • Undertakes maintenance of a range of contemporary or legacy software solutions to required levels of service.

  • Installs and configures software system components including virtualised components where appropriate.

  • Writes or maintains simple scripts or code.

  • Can search and manipulate different types of data sources, including both structured and unstructured.

  • Undertakes maintenance of a range of contemporary or legacy hardware solutions to required levels of service.

  • Installs and configures basic hardware system components, networks and devices (including servers, end-user computers, and mobile devices, whether physical or virtual) as required.

  • Demonstrates safe application of the concepts of Electro Static Discharge (ESD) and meets appropriate health and safety standards when working with hardware.

  • Works professionally and independently, taking responsibility and initiative as appropriate.

  • Demonstrates standard business courtesies and professional ethics in how they work.

  • Demonstrates a productive and organised approach to their work.

  • Works effectively with customers, clients and users.

Course Fees and Funding

How much does the course cost?

There is no cost to being an apprentice. All costs associated with your apprenticeship, including the cost of training and your salary, will be paid by your employer. Funding value £15,000.

Course Content

  • You must achieve Level 2 English and Maths prior to completing the End-point Assessment (EPA). If the apprentice doesn’t already hold Level 2 English and Maths, this content will be blended into the study programme (if it is required).

  • You must be at least 16 years of age.

  • You will need to find an employer willing to employ you as an apprentice. Please see our apprenticeship vacancies for the latest opportunities. Please be aware, individual employers will set their own entry requirements and selection criteria for their apprenticeship job role.

Workplace assessment including observations, questioning and assignments. End-point Assessment (EPA) is project presentation and a professional discussion.

Ability to learn on online with a laptop would be an advantage.
