Hairdressing Professional Level 2 Apprenticeship

The Level 2 Hairdressing Professional Apprenticeship will teach you to provide hairdressing services tailored to client needs. You will conduct consultations, perform industry tests and maintain high client care while following legal and industry standards. Studying this apprenticeship will develop your creativity, professionalism and ability to work independently, ensuring you deliver quality services in a dynamic industry.

Course Content

  • Provide a positive impression of yourself, organisation and the hairdressing industry.

  • Adhere to health and safety, infection control, legal, industry and organisational requirements, industry protocols and manufacturer instructions.

  • Advise, consult, examine and analyse the hair, skin and scalp.

  • Shampoo, condition and treat hair and scalp.

  • Cut hair using a range of techniques to create a variety of looks.

  • Style, set, dress and finish hair using a variety of techniques to create a variety of looks.

  • Change the hair classification type by one classification using chemical services

  • Perform a range of chemical services to change the colour depth and tone.

  • Use, apply and recommend a range of products, tools and equipment for a range of services.

  • Maintain up to date knowledge and skills of new and emerging hairstyles, trends, techniques, products, tools and equipment.

Course Fees and Funding

How much does the course cost?

There is no cost to being an apprentice. All costs associated with your apprenticeship, including the cost of training and your salary, will be paid by your employer. Funding value £11,000

Course Content

You must:

  • achieve Level 2 English and Maths prior to completing the End-point Assessment (EPA. If you don’t already hold Level 2 English and Maths, this content will be blended into the study programme (if it is required).

  • must be at least 16 years of age.

  • You will need to find an employer willing to employ you as an apprentice. Please see our apprenticeship vacancies for the latest opportunities. Please be aware, individual employers will set their own entry requirements and selection criteria for their apprenticeship job role.

Workplace assessment including observations, questioning and assignments. End-point Assessment (EPA) is a knowledge test and professional discussion.

Ability to learn on online with a laptop would be an advantage
