Early Years Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship

The Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship will prepare you to work directly with children in settings such as nurseries, preschools, and schools. You will support the planning and delivery of activities, purposeful play and educational programmes following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. This apprenticeship will equip you with the skills to create engaging learning environments that support children's development from birth to age five.

Your duties may include:

  • Collaborating with colleagues, parents, and professionals to meet children’s needs.

  • Promoting healthy life choices and supporting development through play.

  • Ensuring children’s safety and safeguarding.

  • Reflecting on and improving your practice.

  • Managing hygiene, safety and cleanliness.

  • Supporting children’s development, including those with additional needs.

  • Contributing to planning and organising learning experiences.

  • Communicating with children to enhance development.

  • Keeping accurate records for future planning.

  • Supporting the wellbeing of all children, including those with disabilities.

Course Content

Your studies will cover:

  • Early Years roles and responsibilities.

  • Health and safety, safeguarding, and promoting equality in Early Years.

  • Supporting children’s development, care routines, and physical activity.

  • Supporting special educational needs and promoting positive behaviour.

  • Partnering with others and preparing children for school.

How much does the course cost?

There is no cost to being an apprentice. All costs associated with your apprenticeship, including the cost of training and your salary, will be paid by your employer. Funding value £4,000
