Cyber Security Technician Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship
The Level 3 Cyber Security Technician Advanced Apprenticeship will prepare you to monitor, detect and respond to cyber threats, ensuring secure business operations. You will gain hands-on experience with security controls, firewalls, SIEM tools, and regulatory compliance. This apprenticeship will equip you with the skills to promote cyber awareness and protect organisations from security risks in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
Course Content
Apply procedures and controls to maintain security and control of an organisation.
Contribute to the production and development of security culture across an organisation including assisting with the promotion of cyber security awareness programmes.
Monitoring the effectiveness of cyber security awareness programmes.
Promoting an effective cyber security culture.
Process cyber security helpdesk requests ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of digital information.
Meeting relevant legal and regulatory requirements for example access control requests.
Conduct the installation and maintenance of technical security controls in accordance with relevant procedures and standards.
Monitor, identify, report, and escalate information security incidents and events in accordance with relevant procedures and standards.
Administer cryptographic and certificate management activities in accordance with relevant procedures and standards.

Course Fees and Funding
How much does the course cost?
There is no cost to being an apprentice. All costs associated with your apprenticeship, including the cost of training and your salary, will be paid by your employer. Funding value £11,000.

Course Content
Individual employers will set the selection criteria, but this might include five GCSEs and/or A Levels, a Level 2 Apprenticeship, other relevant qualifications and experience, or an aptitude test with a focus on Functional Maths.
You will need to find an employer willing to employ you as an apprentice. Please see our apprenticeship vacancies for the latest opportunities. Please be aware, individual employers will set their own entry requirements and selection criteria for their apprenticeship job role.
