Children and Young People Families Practitioner Level 5 Higher Apprenticeship (Residential Pathway)
The Level 5 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Higher Apprenticeship will equip you with the skills to work with children, young people, and families, including carers, to achieve positive and sustainable change. You will study how to recognise and assess complex needs, agreeing on specific interventions or referrals. Your approach will combine respectful curiosity, challenging and supporting individuals to reach their potential and stay safe. This apprenticeship develops the knowledge and skills needed for working with children in residential childcare, covering child development and positive relationships. You’ll work with children, young people, and families to achieve positive changes.

Course Fees and Funding
How much does the course cost?
There is no cost to being an apprentice. All costs associated with your apprenticeship, including the cost of training and your salary, will be paid by your employer. Funding value £6,000.

Course Content
You should be at least 18 years old. We do not set any other entry requirements.
You will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement in a residential childcare setting.
You will need to find an employer willing to employ you as an apprentice. Please see our apprenticeship vacancies for the latest opportunities. Please be aware, individual employers will set their own entry requirements and selection criteria for their apprenticeship job role.
You will be assessed through practical observations within the work place and coursework.
Upon completion of the course you will be expected to undertake an End-point Assessment (EPA) which includes:
Observation of practice
A competence interview informed by submission of a portfolio.
