Adult Care Worker Level 2 Apprenticeship
The Level 2 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship will equip you with the skills to support individuals facing physical, practical, social, emotional, or intellectual challenges in settings such as residential homes, day centres and individual's homes. You will study how to help people live independently with dignity, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference in people’s lives while advancing in the care sector.
Course Content
Understand the Care Role: Perform key tasks such as assisting with personal care, mobility, eating and social activities, tailored to individual needs.
Support Personal Goals and Choices: Help individuals achieve their goals and make informed decisions about their care and support.
Maintain Dignity and Communication: Work with respect and dignity, ensuring effective communication with individuals and others.
Ensure Safety and Safeguarding: Keep individuals safe from harm, understanding safeguarding protocols and when to ask for help.
Promote Professionalism: Uphold high standards of professionalism and contribute to your own development while supporting care plans.
Support Diverse Needs: Assist individuals with cognitive, physical, or sensory impairments, adapting care to their unique needs.
Note: You must complete the 15 standards as set out in the Care Certificate which forms part of your mandatory induction delivered in the workplace by your employer. The Care Certificate is a requirement for all apprentices and builds on the previous Common Induction Standards (CIS) and National Minimum Training Standards.

Course Fees and Funding
How much does the course cost?
There is no cost to being an apprentice. All costs associated with your apprenticeship, including the cost of training and your salary, will be paid by your employer. Funding value £4,000.

Course Content
You need to be employed within a Health and Social care setting and have an employer in the area willing to take you on as an apprentice.
You will need to find an employer willing to employ you as an apprentice. Please see our apprenticeship vacancies for the latest opportunities. Please be aware, individual employers will set their own entry requirements and selection criteria for their apprenticeship job role.
Your assessor will carry out planned observation visits in the workplace.
You will also complete an End-point Assessment (EPA) to measure your skills, knowledge and behaviours as set out in the apprenticeship standard.
Assessment of competency through a competency based interview.
