An exciting opportunity has become available for a Business Administration Apprentice to join the close knit and dynamic office team at VanShades, based in the Barugh Green area of Barnsley.


General Duties and Qualification Units are to Include:

Handling incoming and outgoing company telephone calls in a professional manner
Providing excellent customer care both while managing incoming and outgoing electronic documents
Dealing with customer orders / queries in a polite and professional manner
Handle and extract all relevant information from all customer complaints to allow correct remedial action to be taken
First point of contact for visitors
Making tea and coffee for visitors as and when required
Taking and processing payments
Book in deliveries / collections
All aspects of administration such as filing, copying, collating and distributing / maintaining company documents
Administration assistance to office manager
Carry out stock inventories and maintain stock and supplies
Ensure all supplies of stationery are replenished on a timely basis
Check deliveries, invoices
Data input and accounts maintenance
Using office equipment and Microsoft packages such as outlook, word and excel
Qualification Unit-Managing your own and others performance in a business environment
Qualification Unit-Improving your own performance in a business environment
Qualification Unit-Working in a business environment
Qualification Unit-Using Office equipment
A range of optional units will also be selected with the candidate and employer to form a personalised programme of learning which is relevant to the role.

Full training and support will be provided.

Training to be provided

As part of this apprenticeship you will gain your intermediate diploma level 2 in Business Administration which will be delivered entirely at the place of work, both on and off the job by independent training College. The apprenticeship standards also include functional skills qualifications in Maths and English when required.

Weekly Hours: 37.5 in total

Training Allowance: 131.35 per week (In line with the NMW for apprentices)

Skills Required:

A good working knowledge of computers is essential
To maintain strict confidentiality at all times
Ability to communicate with staff at all levels
The ability to work well within a small team is essential along with the ability to seek guidance from senior staff where necessary

No formal qualifications are required.
