This is an opportunity for a caring natured individual to work in the health and social care sector and who has an interest in the care of the elderly. This Care Home offers residential and dementia friendly care for residents on a short term or permanent basis and is based in Cleckheaton. You will gain your Level 2 in Adult Care Standards.


The role will involve:

  • Ensure the delivery of quality, person-centred care
  • Provide Care to support Clients (i.e meal support, not personal care in the first instance)
  • Laundry Duties
  • Activities both in and external to the home
  • Domestic Tasks
  • Provide Information, advice and support to resident's families


Training to be provided:

As part of the apprenticeship the successful applicant will gain their intermediate NVQ Level 2 in Adult Care Standards, delivered entirely at the place of work, both on and off the job by Independent Training Services. The apprenticeship standard also includes functional skills Maths and English when needed.

Care roles by nature can involve recurrent instances of bereavement for residents and their families. Care roles involve assisting residents with all elements of care which includes helping them with toileting needs, bathing and dressing. Care roles involve situations requiring empathy, sensitivity and tact. Care roles also can involve long periods of time standing, demanding shifts and working under pressure when needed.
