Suitable for

Those who already work with Microsoft Access, who need to develop more complex, relational databases by using more sophisticated querying tools and creating multi-table forms and reports.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, you will be able to utilise functions such as action and summary queries and create calculations in queries, forms and reports. You will also be able to apply basic automation through the use of command buttons.

  • Exploring successful table design.
  • Creating and using a hyperlink field.
  • Multiple-field primary key.
  • Exploring field properties.
  • Creating input masks and validation rules.
  • Import and export access data.
  • Import and export data from other sources.
  • Link Access data.

Course requirements

This course can be delivered remotely or in a classroom environment, to suit your requirements.

Delegates must have the following equipment to attend this training remotely:

  • PC or laptop with a microphone and speakers (webcam is preferred but not essential).
  • Access to the internet and web browser application (e.g. Google Chrome).
  • An email account for file sharing.

Attendees should be able to create a simple relational database in Microsoft Access, including creating basic relationships. They should also be able to interrogate and present data by creating simple queries, forms and reports.
