This course is suitable for those aged 16+ looking to develop their IT and digital skills.

By the end of this course, students will have a good basic knowledge of IT processes, including how to create Powerpoints, spreadsheets and Word documents.

Units are flexible for beginners and more advanced students. Units cover the following modules:

• Improving productivity using IT
• IT user fundamentals
• IT security for users
• Using the internet and email
• Using collaborative technologies
• Database software
• Presentation software
• Project management software
• Spreadsheet software
• Word processing software

This course can be delivered remotely or in a classroom environment, to suit your requirements.

To attend remotely, you will require the following equipment:

• PC or laptop with a microphone and speakers (webcam is preferred but not essential)
• Access to the internet and web browser application (e.g. Google Chrome)
• An email account for file sharing

During the course, students will be required to demonstrate the skills they have learnt by delivering a number of short coaching and training sessions. In preparation for this, they must consider the subject areas of the sessions they will deliver before attending this course (our tutor can support this).
