Learning outcomes

    • How to overcome barriers and adapt communication to meet the needs of different customers
  • Understand the specific needs of customers accessing health and social care services:
    • The range of specific needs of customers accessing health and social care services
    • How to provide a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for diverse needs
    • Responding to the behaviour of customers that others may find challenging
  • Teamwork in health and social care settings:
    • The importance of effective teamwork in health and social care
    • Dealing with conflict within teams

Course requirements

Candidates will require the following equipment for distance learning:

  • PC or laptop with a microphone and speakers (a webcam is preferred but not essential)
  • Access to the internet and web browser application (e.g. Google Chrome)
  • An email account for file sharing
